If you’re looking for a movie that has 3way sex that involves a chicken, a she-male, shit eating, incest, and cannibalism then Pinks Flamingo’s is the film for you.
Plot: Cross dresser Babs Johnson (Divine) discovers she (he) has won the title of “the filthiest person alive” from a local newspaper. Babs lives in a
fifth wheel with her son Cracker, her retarded mother Edie, and best friend Cotton the peeping Tom’et.
Unknown to Babs, Connie and Raymond Marble (who run a black market baby ring that caters to lesbian couples) are ferious that they didn’t win the title of “the filthiest person alive”. With the help of their spy Cookie, The Marbles are plotting ways to destroy Babs’s reputation and take her filth title.

A guy “lip sync’s” a song with his asshole for Babs on her birthday.
Babs kills, dismembers, and eats two police officers after they attempted to break up Babs’s birthday party.
Babs gives her son Cracker a blowjob after getting turned on from licking objects in The Marbles home.
Babs eating dog shit just because.
After watching the film it was oblivious that director John Waters had every intention to offend. I found the film disturbing, ever more so when I discovered that Divine who plays Babs did in fact eat real dog shit. The infamous chicken scene is equally disturbing, yet fits the film like a glove.
On the Root Rot scale of (A+) being the best and (E) the worst, the 1972 Pink Flamingo’s gets a (C)…Pink Flamingo’s is a must see for any lover of cult films.

I can’t believe I haven’t seen this damn film yet! It’s been on my to-see list forever, I’m a late comer to Waters films beginning with Crybaby, I need to work my way back. Great review Root Rot, loved your voicemail on Midnight Corey’s latest epusode, great stuff.

this one was one of the few films that was hard to sit through. my wife’s dad recomended it to me, and i thought why not. i couldnt agree more, a cult film if thier ever was one. “offend in every way”? for sure. i have to admit i did laugh at some of the stupidity in the film, some of it is just sick. so have a slice of americana one and all!
This DOES NOT sound appealing to me in the least, but then again I watched Grotesque this weekend (the torture porn movie banned in Britain) and I actually enjoyed it for the most part, so one never knows what will entertain
