Review of the Android HCT Aria

Review by: Root Rot

After spending many enjoyable hours on the phone with AT&T, I was finally speaking with the person that was going to help me upgrade Keels8′s iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4….well, that was my original plan anyway.  3hours after speaking with the AT&T rep that was the key to getting Keels8 a new phone, I found myself walking out of the AT&T store as the new owner of an Android HTC Aria, while  poor Keels was left with  her jacked up, cracked up iPhone 3G.

I had been a user of the iPhone for just over a year and  had very few complaints; however, I did feel limited in regards to their applications.  At one point I decided to broaden my horizons by jail breaking my iPhone. This definitely broadened by horizons; however, it also occupied my time with figuring out what to do each time my phone crashed.  I was able to do a lot with my iPhone and it served its purpose, but the time came  for me to move on to something more……or……maybe, I got a little zealous after the idea of tinkering with a new toy was placed in my head by the helpful AT&T rep that was on his way setting up Keels8 with a new phone.

So far I’ve found the Android HTC Aria to be extremely user friendly. Aside from the smaller sized screen and keyboard, I have yet to discover an area in which the Android HTC Aria is inferior to the iPhone; I have however, discovered a few areas in which it is superior. The Android HTC Aria offers an array of  free apps, making it less expensive and simpler to personalize the phone. The Android HTC Aria automatically syncs the phone to the computer every time I log into my Google account. By far my favorite feature is the click and drag method used for file transfer; it’s quicker and more comprehensive than Itunes.

At the end of the day I’m happy with the switch, but not quite ready to rule out the possibility of going back to the iPhone. As for Keels, she decided to wait…..or as she would say, was forced to wait by a selfish technology junkie, who was suckered by the mere mention of a shinier toy. Don’t feel too bad, she will soon upgrade to the iPhone4; until then, I’m guessing  she won’t enjoy watching me explore my new phone as she stares at her broken screen…..oops.
