Review by: Root Rot
The weird and wild world of collecting is exposed mondo style in the 2006 Mondo Collecto. Director, writer, and producer R. P. Whalen shows us the world of the modern day collector by introducing us to a group of very unique hobbyist.

Mondo Collecto (2006)
Directed by: R. P. Whalen
Plot: Director R. P. Whalen travels The United States interviewing collectors ranging from the normal Joe to the likes of director Ted V. Mikels. Between each interview an array of 60′s style Go Go dancers entertain the viewer with their mondo fueled frolic.
There are also a series of witty skits that adds the final ingredient to Whalen’s mondo Mulligan stew of magic…End..
Mondo Collecto follows suit with other great mondo movies such as Mondo Cane (1962), and Mondo New York (1988). The highlight of the movie are the collectors themselves showing Whalen’s sharp eye for interesting interviewees.
On the Root Rot scale of (A+) being the best and (E) the worst, the 2006 Mondo Collecto gets a (B+)…
Mondo Collecto is a must see for collectors and fans of mondon movies alike!

certainly enjoyed that. looks very interesting. love delving into the lives of people to give a better insight as to what, or who, is out there living almost us. I used to collect things, movie memorabilia… hmm… i wonder if my friends and family saw me the way i saw that one guy in the beginning of trailer.
I still collect comics, but not nearly as much as I did 5 years ago.. I was spending over 300 bucks a month. That didn’t include action figures or non sport cards; add those in then I was up to 400 -500.. Nuts! I tried to sell some of my collection this summer, and I may have made back 20%. Sad!
i know what you mean, i mean i made out good when I sold my stuff either breaking even or making a little more being that a lot of it was custom-made stuff and limited things (lightsabers, masks, props, etc.) but yeah, it was def a very expensive hobby and my wife is glad im not in it so much any more although it does bring a tear to my eye whenever i think about it… like right now :)
