Yah or Nay of the Day goes like this… I tell you if I did or didn’t like a movie I’ve recently watched and why .. I guess you could call them mini reviews.
Kalifornia (1993)

Plot
A yuppie author (David Duchovny) and his photographer girlfriend decided to move to California so they can finish their book on serial killers. The couple can also take advantage of an opportunity to visit famous serial killer crime scenes across the USA. The only problem is, the couple is low on cash. So they decide to post an add looking for people that are going to California and are willing to split the traveling cost. As luck would have it, a ex-con trailer park bumpkin named “Early” (Brad Pitt) and his woman “Adele” (Juliette Lewis) respond to the add. As the two odd couples begin their journey toward California, the yuppies begin to realize maybe they should have re-thought operation share a cross country car ride with strangers because we’re too cheap. About the midway point of their trip, Early reveals his true colors and goes a bit of a killing spree.
Verdict
Misfitboy and Keeley gives this a Yah, but I say Nay… Here’s why.
I was not a fan of Kalifornia because I was expecting a lot more from the film. It reminded me of a mixture of the movies True Romance and Natural Born Killers only not as good as either one. On a positive note, Brad Pitt’s performance as a white trash serial killer was great, making the film more enjoyable to watch. Also, there were a couple of scenes in the movie that I found myself yelling at David Duchovny’s character even calling him a pussy. It takes a lot for me to yell at a movie, so there’s something positive to say about that too. Even though I wasn’t a fan of Kalifornia doesn’t mean I don’t understand why other people are. It simply means it isn’t a movie that I would re-watch or recommend. Keeley and Misfitboy on the other hand are fans of this film and could probably give you numerous reason to check it out. So on behalf of Keeley and Misfitboy, I say fuck it, Yah it is for Kaliforina (1993).
BTW, I couldn’t stand David Duchovny’s fucking hair cut…

saw it years ago,enjoyed it,saw it a while back and thought it was pants,it has aged about as well as me,duchovny can’t act so for me tiz a nay.
I do recall watching this film years ago and enjoying it at the time though I recall little about it other than Brad Pitt’s pretty awesome performance as hayseed serial killer. Probably put Pitt on the map for me. I loved Duchovny in the X-files but am not a fan of his film work for the most part. As for not rewatching it I own this on DVD and have never watched it , so I’m with ya there Root Rot.
I disagree, while the movie is a little slow Brad Pitts performance alone makes this a must watch.
U just refuse to admit u liked it chz I recommended it….and Root Rot don’t take no kinda movie advice from his old lady. Yup yup.
