Horror Icon of the Week: Bub From Day of the Dead (1985)

Bub from Day of the Dead (1985)

Why?

Twenty years before the zombies in George Romero’s Land of the Dead started developing a primitive thought process, a zombie named Bub was able to do all kinds of cool shit. In Romero’s 1985 Day of the Dead the pet like zombie “Bub” had the ability to shave, shoot a gun, look at words in a book and salute. It seemed as if Bub was in the middle, not quite a mindless flesh eater, yet not able to do your tax returns. What makes Bub so memorable is his like-ability which caused me to cheer after Bub shot Caption Rhodes. I will go on record by saying, Bub is the coolest zombie ever, making him the Fonzie of the undead. So take that Big Daddy and horse back riding chick zombie from Survival of the Dead!

Eric R. Lowther & Sherman Howard the actor who portrayed Bub in the 1985 Day of Dead
